Alfred Edward “Al” Anding Jr. Alfred Edward “Al” Anding Jr., was born in Madison on September 4, 1942, and born to eternal life on September 22, 2023.  He married Kathleen (nee Greenheck) on August 26, 1965, and they shared 58 years together.  Al graduated from Arena High School in 1960 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1964.  Al and Kathy loved to travel and visited every continent except Australia.  They made friends along the way and loved to tell stories about their trips.  Al was an avid Badgers and Packers fan, attending four of the Badgers’ first six Rose Bowls as well as The Ice Bowl. He loved the water and inviting friends to join his family on Lake Monona.  Al was a faithful member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church in Madison making dear friends and serving on the church council for many years.  He is missed by all who knew him. Al is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Aaron (Susan Straus) and Jason; grandson, Aidan; granddaughter, Elise; brother, Larry (Mary Lee); and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Beryl (Kopps) Anding. A celebration of life will be held at Lake Edge Lutheran Church, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, on Sunday, October 22, 2023.  A visitation will take place from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. A luncheon and fellowship will follow.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, his family requests donations be made to the Lake Edge Lutheran Church Endowment Fund in Al’s name. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
