Inez Zitlow (nee Yttri)

Inez Zitlow (nee Yttri), 102, of Chicago formerly of Prairie Du Sac, WI., passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023.  She and her beloved husband Vernon were married for 66 years when he passed away in 2011. Inez was also preceded in death by her dear son David, her parents Thomas and Marie and her siblings Christine, Tilman and Helen.   Devoted mother to Ronald (Judith) Zitlow and Barbara Dougherty.  Loving grandmother to Christopher (Lisa) Zitlow, Lauren (Robert) Jennings, Peter Zitlow, Bradley (Jessica) Dougherty, and Ryan Dougherty (Chrissy).  Adoring great-grandmother of six and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Inez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved traveling and spending time with family, especially at the cottage on Lake Wisconsin. Inez was a devoted parishioner of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she participated in many activities.  She was sharp as a tack even as she said goodbye to this world.  A few years ago, Inez was asked what she thought the keys to a happy life were.  She replied, “to be kind to each other, treat everyone as a friend, and to never forget to tell the people most special to you that you love them”.  A visitation and celebration of Inez’s life will be held in Chicago on Wednesday, September 13th from 2 – 4 at Donnellan Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 14th, at Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum Chapel 401 Femrite Dr. Monona, WI 53716.  Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:15pm, followed by a Memorial Service promptly starting at 3:15 pm.
