Kenneth E. Mercer Kenneth E. Mercer, age 86 of Lone Rock, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at his residence following and extended illness.  He was born on June 17, 1937, the son of Kenneth L. and Lorraine (Broughton) Mercer.  Ken served in the United States Navy and was employed by Umhoefer Lumber for 30 +years. Before Umhoefer Lumber he worked for Grell Lumber and Gorman’s Grocery store. He was married on April 9, 1960, to the former Sharon A. Olson. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Mercer of Lone Rock; daughter, Dawn (Terry) Sprecher of Viola, son, Steve Mercer of Muscoda; grandson, Ben (Haylie) Sprecher of Muscoda; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Axel Sprecher; two brothers, Milo Mercer of Lone Rock, Jerry Mercer of Fennimore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth L. and Lorraine Mercer, and a grandson, Frank Sprecher. A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
