Obituary: June E. Roewer

Passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Loving wife of the late Col. William (Bill) Roewer. Beloved mother of Ellen (Michael) Smith and Paul (Lilliana) Roewer. Grandmother of Justin and Jarrod Roewer. Step grandmother of Brian Dewberry and Marina (Dewberry) Nixon. Daughter of the late Hazel E. (Krueger) Adams and the late Henry A. Piskey. Also survived by sisters Donna (Piskey) Horkan, Sharon (Piskey) Corners, the late Betty (Piskey) Wicker, the late brother James Piskey, other relatives and friends.

June was born July 24, 1934 in Reedsburg, WI. She married her husband Bill on February 16, 1957. They welcomed a daughter, Ellen, in 1958 and then a son, Paul, in 1961. June Graduated from Wartburg College in 1957 with a BA degree in Liberal Arts. She Raised her children, Ellen and Paul while Bill was full time active in the Air Force. Later, she became a full-time teacher, teaching home economics at Oak Creek Senior High school.  While teaching, she had a passion for helping and educating her students.  She always went out of her way to help anyone that needed help with either school or personal problems. She retired from teaching and was active in her local church of Grace Lutheran (Oak Creek) and was a member of the Lions Club International.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, crafts, golf, reading and spending time with her family and friends. June had a never-ending positive attitude about life that she passed on to all those around her.

Private interment Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Lutheran Church school would be preferred.
