Obituary: Joan Marie Austin

Joan Marie Austin passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023, surrounded by her family in her home in New Jersey. Her life will be celebrated in Reedsburg on Saturday, June 17.

Joan was born in Hill Point WI, to the late Marvin and Lila Korth on November 29, 1939. She spent her childhood years in Reedsburg, WI until she married Floyd E. Austin when they moved to Lacrosse, WI. Joan lived in many different areas of the country throughout her life, most recently in Gray TN, and Medford NJ.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Floyd E. Austin; children Kelly Cunningham (William), Kathleen Lang (Scott), Tim Austin (Dianne); six grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Cunningham, Kaitlin and Austin Lang, and Dean and Luke Austin; sisters Dianne Schulenburg (Richard), Betty Dorow (John), and Sherry Clark; late brother-in-law Ronald Austin (Sharon); brother-in-law Louis Austin (Joanne); nieces and nephews, other relatives and many long-time friends.

Family and Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, June 17, at 11:00 am, at St. John Lutheran Church, 307 6th St, Reedsburg.  A celebration of life will be held at Reedsburg Country Club following the service until 3:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
