Betty K. Rasmussen
Betty K. Rasmussen, Spring Green, fought hard until the end when dementia stole her from herself. She was born in Romania on May 4, 1937, and passed with family at her side on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Betty lived in Vienna, Austria from 1940 until 1950 when she crossed the ocean on the Queen Elizabeth with her mom and siblings. She worked hard to lose the accent, learn English and “fit in.” She met the love of her life while in high school and became a U.S. citizen within days of turning 18. Betty is survived by her son, Steve (Jennifer) Rasmussen of Bartlett, Illinois; her daughter, Cyndie Rasmussen of Spring Green; her grandchildren, Tami (Chris), Tina (Jay), Rob (Steph), John (Rahne), Jordan (Cody), Nikkie (Jake); her seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Sophie, Clayton, Justin, Taylee, Josie and Willa; her sister, Freddie Cook; her brother, Frank (Jerri) Gutwein; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband El; and her parents Frank and Barbara. A celebration of her life will be held at Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of celebration at 3 p.m. Online condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com.
