Obituary: Sawyer James Deitrich

Sawyer James Deitrich passed away in his mommy and daddy’s arms on February 5th, 2023 after being diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. Sawyer was born on November 18th, 2022 to parents Tessa and Derek, their first and only child. Sawyer was a happy little boy who loved to make faces, wiggle all the time and be snuggled up in fuzzy blankets. He also had a dog, Havana, who rarely ever left his side. Sawyer was such a bright light whose light was burnt out way too soon but will remain forever in our hearts.

Sawyer is survived by his loving parents Derek and Tessa, paternal grandparents, James Deitrich and Cori James; maternal grandparents, James Piwonski, Jennifer Kowalski and Cas Kowalski; great-grandparents, Ron James, Sandi Lewellyn, Liz James, Pauline Deitrich, Jackie Piwonski, Laurie Dionne, Myron Dionne and Cas Kowalski Sr.; uncles Tristan, Payton, Jordan, Ethan, Chris, Dylan and Jon; aunts Tianna, Amy, Katrina, Jennifer, Brenda, Laura and Kathy; cousins Monica, Dakota, Cheyenne, Evan, Melissa, Marlee, Abbey, Garrett, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Ashley, Jamie and Kate; doggy, Havana; and many other family and friends.

Sawyer was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, James Deitrich; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Piwonski; maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Kowalski; and paternal great aunt, Patricia Deitrich.

A service celebrating the life of Sawyer James Deitrich will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Tessa and Derek are asking everyone to wear colors other than black and white to honor Sawyer.
