Obituary: Richard “Dick” Earl Fry

Richard “Dick” Earl Fry, age 79, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Our House Memory Care in Wisconsin Dells. He was born on April 20, 1943 the son of Earl and Evelyn (Moore) Fry. On December 5, 1964 he was united in marriage to Barbara Baetje.

Richard hauled can milk with his dad, and worked at Carr Valley and Suemnicht Cheese for 28 years. He also worked at Seats Inc. for 13 years, and hauled Amish for 14 years. He loved being outdoors. Richard had a love for horses and was a cowboy at heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved going to Alabama and Texas, and going to new places out West. Together with Barb their last vacation involved taking a train ride out to California to see the redwoods.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Evelyn Fry; in-laws, Edgar and Marcella Baetje; brother, Edward Fry; nieces, Laramie Fry and Penny Coy; sisters-in-law, Vicky Fry and Sharon Crivelle; brothers-in-law, Donald Ward, Dale Baetje, and Ron Baetje.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Barbara E. Fry; children, William “Bill” and Laura Fry, Amy Lowery, Brenda and John Pawlisch; grandchildren, Logan and Sara Fry, Shawn Lowery, Jaslyn and Jon Blevens, Lauren Pawlisch; step-grandchild, Teryn Blevens; great-grand-children River and Elinore Fry; sisters, Shirley Ward, Dorothy and Marion Coy, Carol and Steve Smith, Diana and Lavern Gher, and Patty and Jim Schulte; brothers, Ralph and Faith, Vernon, Wayne, Dean and Diane, Lester, David, and Tim and Mary; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Richard were conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Conrad Prell and Pastor Daniel Lewig co-officiating. Visitation was on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lime Ridge.

The family would prefer memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
