Obituary: Geneva Jean Johnson

Geneva Jean Johnson, age 87, of LaValle, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. She was born on October 9, 1935, in Mauston, WI, the daughter of Walden and Mildred (Jackson) Granger. She was a graduate of Mauston High School. On December 28, 1955, Geneva was united in marriage to Roger Johnson at the Advent Christian Church in LaValle. This marriage was blessed with six children. Roger preceded her in death on January 18, 1994.

She had been employed through the years at House of Harmony, Ray-O-Vac, Snyder Nursing Home, Zimmerman Nursing Home, Head Start bus driver and a bus aide, and farmed. Geneva was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed gardening. Her favorite past-time was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a fun loving grandmother who always brought smiles to everyone. Her hobbies include square dancing, camping and sewing.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children, Roger, Marvin, Kevin and Jean Marie; siblings, Madaline Holby, Arnold Granger, Vera Stout, and Emma in infancy.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Evan Johnson (Sharon Lyon) of Wausau, Raymond (Brenda) Johnson of LaValle; grandchildren, Tammy (Andrew) Senecal, Brandon Johnson (Emily Denker), James Johnson, Kaitlin (Jeremiah) Demaskie, Kayleigh Johnson, Evan Jr. (Tammy) Johnson, Trisha Johnson (Tom), Brittany (Andrew) Nelson, Chelsea Johnson (Fiance, Mark Roecker), Mahkinzie Johnson; great grandchildren, Noah, Jake, Silas, Jaxon, Nathaniel, Zane, Storm, Lillith, Nevaeh, Serenity, Madden, Shelby, Arabella, Briella and Brooklynn; several nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Geneva Jean Johnson will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Advent Christian Church, LaValle, with Pastor Andy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaValle. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
