Obituary: Barbara A. Breneman

Barbara A. Breneman, 66, of Hillpoint, passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2022 at her home. Barb was born January 18, 1956 in Richland Center to the late Leo and Martha (Bloedow) Stoltz.
One of nine children, she grew up helping on the family dairy farm. She was a graduate of Ithaca High School. On August 29, 1978, she married Robert Breneman at the Baraboo Court House, they then danced the night away at the Bourbon Barrel dance hall in Loganville WI. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Barb was employed for 38 years at Hankscraft (Gerber/Nestle/Nuk) as an assembly operator. She retired in June of 2018.
Not one to sit still or shy away from hard work, Barb was always busy. She enjoyed being outside all year round. In the spring time she was planting seeds and growing her vegetable garden. Summer was for camping, the family spent weekends at their favorite lake, Petenwell. She also enjoyed nurturing her annual and perennial flower gardens. In the fall she could be found canning the produce from her garden, raking leaves and enjoying the last campfires of the season. Even in winter she made sure the area bird population was well fed, helped shovel snow, and restock the wood pile to keep the house warm.
Barb loved most having her family together for holidays and special occasions where she always prepared a feast. Cooking and baking were another past time she enjoyed. She was known to make cakes, cookies, brownies and bars for the local Hillpoint VFW spaghetti and soup dinners. Barb enjoyed supporting local crafters and was one of the best bargain hunters you could find. She always had a gift, a little something extra to make a person feel special, and she always brought a smile to those she would see.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her children; Dennis (Maureen), Liz (Corey), Jesse, and Karl.
Per Barbs wishes, a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local VFW post or fire department in Barb’s honor.
Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
