Weston School District benefits from reading program

Nicole Lehr, literacy consultant from CESA 6, spent March 30 at Weston Elementary modeling interactive read-alouds and writing materials. This is a part of the district's multi-year professional development plan to improve literacy practices in the district.

Lehr spent time in four classrooms demonstrating for teachers. This activity was recorded and is used by the district for additional staff training. After each demonstration, Lehr met with staff and administration to debrief and discuss the next steps.

There was also time planned to continue working with 4K and kindergarten teachers on play time, an important part of early education. (Submitted photos)
