SP students win scholarships, Harnisch honored

The Herb Kohl Education Foundation announced the recipients of its annual scholarships and education awards on April 6, 2022. Sauk Prairie High School Principal Chad Harnisch was honored with a “Principal Leader” award and high school seniors Avery Leigh and Faith Holler were named recipients of the Student Excellence Scholarship. The Principal Leader award recognizes principals in Wisconsin for setting high standards for instruction, achievement and character, and creating a climate to best serve students, families, staff, and community. The Student Excellence Scholarship recipients receive a $10,000 scholarship award. Students are selected based on their exceptional scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and school and community involvement. Avery Leigh plans on continuing her education at Knox College where she will study environmental science and play soccer. Faith Holler plans on continuing her education at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse where she intends to major in elementary education. Chad Harnisch has served as the principal at Sauk Prairie High School since 2013. “Faith and Avery represent the best of Sauk Prairie High School,” shared Superintendent Jeff Wright. “They are active in the school and community and are dedicated to excelling academically. We are so proud of them.” Principal Chad Harnisch was quick to share his honor with the team, stating, “I’m humbled to have been honored with this award, which in truth highlights the fantastic work of the team of instructional and building staff I get to work with every day. I can’t wait to see what we’re able to do together next!”
