Obituary: Frances “Fanny” D. Hansen

Frances “Fanny” D. Hansen, age 91, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born on September 6, 1930 in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Homer and Mary (Karsten) Schyvinck. She was married to Henry Hansen.

She enjoyed her time spent with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Frances enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, writing letters and shaking dice. She made the best homemade chicken noodle soup and fried bread dough. She loved traveling to Kentucky and Florida to see the ocean. Shewas a full-time pitcher for softball and kickball games at family get-togethers and picnics.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; children Joey, James Hansen; three stepchildren Darold Hansen, Arnold Hansen, and Christina Hansen; grandchildren Logan Ferries and Diana “Annie” Burdick; sons-in-law Mike Ferguson and Lyle Thompson; sister Mary O’Brien.

She is survived by her children, Dan Hansen, Patty (Terry) Pikel, Sue Burdick, Tom (Sue) Hansen, Donna Thompson, Jerry (Paula) Hansen, and Diane Ferguson (friend Jeff Ferries); sisters, Kathleen Schulenburg and Sue (Bob) Fleming; and brother, Jim Schyvinck; step-daughter, Lulubelle Stevens; along with many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service for Frances will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Chaplain Daniel Farber will be the officiant. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be made in Pine Grove Cemetery in Adams.
