Obituary: Michael E. Cole

Michael E. “The Gonz” Cole, age 61, of Baraboo, WI, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. He was born on December 2, 1960 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Ervin R. and Beverly A. (LeBansky) Cole. Michael worked at Royle Printing in Sun Prairie.

Gonz loved to work with his hands, fixing an engine or welding a project. He was happiest outdoors, in the garage, on the snowmobile trail, or in the deer stand. His girls have fond memories of being picked up at school in Mr. Bubble or getting to ride on the back of the motorcycle. He was always eager to lend a hand, help a friend, give a hug, and express his love for others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Keagen, and his brother David in infancy.

Michael is survived by his daughters: Ashley (Josh) Baker of Wonewoc, and Laura (Jason) Palmer of Browntown; grandchildren: Heidi and Forrest Baker, and Triston, Seth, and Kaileigh Koch; brother, Terry (Judy) Cole of Reedsburg; nephews: Robert, David, and Paul Cole; special friend: Sharon Fiske; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Michael will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Reverend Paul Crolius, Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 P.M., and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
