Remember to call before you dig

Experts advise Wisconsin residents and business owners to make sure they check before they do any digging on their property.

Diggers Hotline is a free service that provides info about underground lines and infrastructure. Striking a buried line can result in injury and costly repairs.

Before doing any digging, even with a shovel, call 811 for information. You can also visit www.DiggersHotline.com. This is required of anyone digging in Wisconsin.

It’s important to know the location of underground lines for anything, including installing mailboxes, undertaking landscaping projects and building a deck or patio, just for example. It doesn’t matter how deep you are digging; lines can be at any depth.
