Jacquell (Jac) Meredith Kraemer Jacquell (Jac) Meredith Kraemer passed away on July 12, 2021, at her home in Plain.  She was born on January 31, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, to Stanley and Lillian (Imm) Kosinski.  Jacquell graduated from Alvernia High School in Chicago in 1939 and from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, in 1943.  On August 19, 1944, she married her beloved husband, Victor Kraemer, in Chicago and that “big city” girl became a “small town” girl when she moved to Plain where they raised their family of eight children. Jac is survived by her children: Sharon (Edmund) Bettinger and William (Jennifer) Kraemer of Plain, Lynnette (Robert) Zauner of Burnsville, Minnesota, Janis Marino of Plain, Victoria (Alan) Hillmann of Apple Valley, Minnesota, John (Betty) Kraemer of Paradise Valley, Arizona, James (Diane) Kraemer of Madison and Joseph (Polly) Kraemer of Plain; 21 grandchildren: Jane (Jeffrey) Brewer, John (Pamela) Bettinger, Sarah Bettinger, Douglas Bettinger, Nicholas Kraemer, William “Alex” Kraemer, Mollie Zauner, Benjamin Zauner, Andrew Zauner, Megan (Jared) Lee, Matthew (Beth) Marino, Joseph Hillmann, Elizabeth (Chris) Selle, Rebecca Hillmann, Michael (Katie) Kraemer, Kaitlin Kraemer, Gregory (Kirsten) Kraemer, Christopher (Nichole) Kraemer, Sarah Kraemer (Ben Traun), Courtney (David) Houserman and Jackson Kraemer; 22 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Duane (Gwendolyn) Kraemer of Plain and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor; her parents Stanley and Lillian Kosinski; her in-laws Edward and Gisela Kraemer; her sisters Dorothy Kosinski and Lorraine (Thomas) Herion; her brothers-in-law, Rudolph (Marian) Kraemer and Frederick (Margaret) Kraemer; her sister-in-law Iris (Richard) Umhoefer; her son-in-law Richard Marino; and her grandson-in-law Gerald Rieder. Jac was more than a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.  She was a woman ahead of her time with many interests. She played the piano, rode horses, played basketball, golfed and snow-skied. She sewed, knitted and did needlepoint. She loved dogs and M&M peanuts and the Green Bay Packers. She played a mean game of Euchre.  She was a fast typist and an even faster driver.  She took flying lessons until Dad found out and that was that. At eight months pregnant, Mom hopped on a bus to Milwaukee with Bill to see a World Series game between the Yankees and the Braves.  She was an avid reader, known to read a book a day in her later years before losing her sight.  She baked the best pies, apple and banana cream being family favorites.  She thought nothing of packing the kids in the car in the early morning, heading to Chicago for a day long shopping trip and then driving back home the same night.  She would pack her car with a playpen, picnic basket, towels and kids to spend a day at Devil’s Lake Park.  We all loved her thrilling rides over the “rickety bridge” outside of Plain and around the “pretty block.”  Most of all Mom loved having her hair brushed and we all took turns playing “beauty parlor,” Mom on the floor sitting between our knees, we making a rat’s nest of her hair.  In a quiet moment, she could be found with her blue novena book and rosary in her hand.  With eight kids, she had a lot to pray for. She was an amazing and wonderful mother and we were so blessed to have her as our own.  We will love and miss her forever. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Michael Resop was held on Monday, July 19, 2021, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Plain with a private family burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacquell’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Kraemer Library, St. Luke’s Church or the Plain EMS. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeffrey Collins, Mom’s caregiver  Munhzul (Zula) Jagdal, Fr. John Silva, Fr. Michael Resop, Sandra Meise and the staff of Agrace Hospice and Age at Home. Mom, you were blessed with a long, beautiful life. Thank you for all the love and support you gave us. We hope that you and Dad have had a joyful reunion and that you are now enjoying a good game of Euchre with old friends or family. You are forever in our hearts.  Job well-done.  Rest in peace.
