  David R. Williams David R. Williams, age 73, of Spring Green passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Greenway Manor Nursing Home following an illness.  He was born on December 12, 1947, in Madison, the son of Richard and Harriet (Edwards) Williams.  David served our country in Vietnam and was very proud of his Marine service. David was married on July 15, 2006, to Carol Jefferson.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and worked prior to his retirement at the UW Police Department as a detective.  Survivors include his wife, Carol Jefferson of Spring Green; and Peggy Williams of Wimauma, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Harriet Williams.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green with Pastors Kirsten Mueller and Wendell Williams officiating followed by Military Rites by the Spring Green American Legion Post #253, the University of Wisconsin Retired Police Honor Guard, and the Ewing-Olson VFW Post #9336.  Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Following the church service there will be a Celebration of Life at the Post House Garden located on Jefferson Street.
