Jane L. Michaelis

BLACK EARTH - Jane L. Michaelis, age 96, of Black Earth, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Sauk Prairie Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1925, in Jefferson County, Wis., the daughter of James and Grace (Buursma) Meekma. Jane married Lawrence A. Michaelis on Oct. 28, 1950, in Madison. Jane is survived by her loving husband of 70 ½ years, Lawrence “Larry”; daughters, Lois (Roy) Grant, Karen (Jack) Meyer, Donna Mae Juno and Irene Bollerud; son-in-law, Randy Bartow; sister, Grace Catherine Atkinson; grandchildren, Lona (Marvin) Renvick, Ashley (Joe) Parker, Jason Meyer, Shane Bartow, Brandon (Rebekah Hustad) Juno, Blake Bollerud and A.J. Bollerud; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joan Bartow; brothers, James and Peter Meekma; and sisters, Eveline Phillips, Clarice Krueger and Amy Bornick. A private family graveside service will be held at Middleton Junction Cemetery. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
