Free online seminars aim to help parents
The local UW-Extension office is organizing Zoom seminars to empower parents.
The Positive Parenting Program offers strategies and ideas to help those with children up through age 12.
Parents may attend one, some or all of the seminars, which are free.
The schedule is as follows:
The Power of Positive Parenting, noon to 1 p.m. March 12. Learn about the five principles of positive parenting.
Raising Confident, Competent Children, noon to 1 p.m. March 19. Discover how to teach children important values and skills.
Raising Resilient Children, noon to 1 p.m. March 26. Find out how to teach children about feelings and developing emotional regulation.
Discussion: Dealing with Disobedience, noon to 1 p.m. April 16. Starting with this session, parents can talk about how they handle misbehavior and other issues related to obedience.
Discussion: Bedtime routines, noon to 1 p.m. April 23.
Discussion: Managing Fighting and Aggression, noon to 1 p.m. April 30.
