Sen. Howard Marklein, R-Spring Green, took a stance against all rioting, looting and trespassing. He expressed the same last year when his office in Madison was vandalized during BLM protests.

“I said it then and I’ll say it now: There is absolutely no justification for violence to express an opinion. I condemn the violence at the United States Capitol building and hope that all citizens will seek peaceful resolution to our differences,” he said in a statement.

Protestors stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The investigation is ongoing but so far it appears the perpetrators were Donald Trump supporters.
