Obituary: Denise R. “Dede” Wetley

Denise R. “Dede” Wetley, age 60 years, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her home. She born on June 27, 1960 to Richard and Ilene (Novy) Melvin in Viroqua, Wisconsin. She grew up in Wonewoc and graduated from the Wonewoc-Center High School. Denise was united in marriage to her sixth-grade sweetheart, Kenneth Wetley on August 12, 1989 at Dutch Hollow, near Wonewoc. She has spent most of her married life in Lake Delton and worked at Gerber in Reedsburg and Flambeau in Baraboo. She was a loving Mother and was always willing to help anyone. Those closest to Denise knew she did not leave the house without wearing her favorite patchouli perfume. Denise shared a love for rock music and concerts with her husband and children. Her favorite artists included Pink Floyd, Road trip, and Kid Rock. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays with family, and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Denise loved decorating with elaborate Christmas light displays. Denise had a vast collection of wind chimes and angels, which could be found throughout her home and garden. Survivors include her husband, Kenney Wetley; son, Alex (Ali) Wetley and their daughter, Paisley; daughter, Alisha Wetley; mother, Ilene Melvin; step mother, Patti Melvin; sisters, Dawn Leatherberry, Lisa (Ron) Romanelli, LeAnn Melvin and Aimee Melvin; brothers, David (Linda) Melvin, Alan (Tracey) Melvin and Brian Melvin; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Melvin and nephew, Jason Leatherberry.
