Nunes will continue as Alice in Dairyland

Alice in Dairyland Julia Nunes will remain Wisconsin’s Alice in Dairyland through 2021.
The Chippewa Falls woman was expected to be replaced by the next Alice in Dairyland in May. However, the finals, set in Walworth County, were canceled due to COVID-19.
The next finals will be held May 19-21, 2022 in Dane County.
There was no other option, said Randy Romanski, secretary designee for the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, which runs the Alice in Dairyland program.
“While 2020 may be behind us, the pandemic is not. Cancelling the 74th Alice in Dairyland finals is an unfortunate but necessary step to help protect the health and safety of our staff and the public we serve. We look forward to resuming the annual Alice selection process in 2022,” he said.
Applications for the 75th Alice in Dairyland role will be available on Jan. 3, 2022.
Alice serves as an agriculture ambassador for Wisconsin. She travels the state to inform the public about the importance of this sector to Wisconsin’s economy.
