Sheriff’s Office investigating thefts from vehicles

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to lock their vehicles following a string of thefts.

During the evening of Dec. 23, the office was notified of three males entering unlocked vehicles at a business in the town of Delton. A description of the men and surveillance video was obtained at the business.

Later that evening, the office was notified again of a man entering vehicles on Fox Hill Road in the town of Delton. The female caller said she confronted the man, who ran way, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office. He was not located at that time.

In the early morning of Dec. 24, a Lake Delton Police Department officer stopped a suspicious vehicle in the village of Lake Delton after recognizing it from the theft incidents. A search of the vehicle turned up numerous stolen items. The operator and sole occupant, Jordan Johnson, 23, of Sun Prairie, was arrested for theft and taken to the Sauk County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
