Obituary: Gloria Jean Schneider

Gloria Jean Schneider, age 82, of Loganville, WI, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She was born on August 15, 1938 in Iowa, the daughter of Alfred L. and Frances E. (Ohl) Leyh. On October 25, 1959 she was united in marriage to Harvey Schneider in Sumner, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with four children.

She was a nurses’ aide and spent over 40 years taking care of people here and in Iowa. Her patients became a second family. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered as being an amazing mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harvey on January 18, 2018; sisters Coleen Rolfes and Ronna Slater; brother Eugene Leyh; sister-in-law Norma Schlichting; and brother-in-law Arnold Schneider.

Gloria is survived by her children, Darrel Schneider of Loganville, Darlene (Tim) Everding of Tripoli, IA, Dennis Schneider of Loganville, and Denise (Todd) Meyer of Onalaska; grandchildren: Macy and Sawyer Meyer of Onalaska, Tiffany (Kole) Goodchild of Hugo, MN, and Braden (Hannah) Everding of Allen, TX; great grandchildren: Maddie, Karter and Gabby Goodchild, Oliver and Theo Everding; brother Orval (Pauline) Leyh; brother-in-law Robert (Marian) Schneider; sisters-in-law Esther Bast and Irma Goeller; nieces, nephews, along with good neighbors and friends.

Due to COVID, a memorial service for Gloria will be conducted at a later date.

The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family.
