Heights students to get drive-in graduation in August

Wisconsin Heights seniors will get a drive-in graduation this year, at Warner Park on August 7. Since Dane County will most likely progress to a less restrictive phase, current social distancing regulations will apply. The board also heard about COVID-19 guidelines for the upcoming school year at their June 22 meeting. Employees will be responsible for self-reporting symptoms, as well as exposure to those who have tested positive. An action plan has been created in case an employee or student tests positive: parents will be informed, and if the person is at the school, they will be isolated. The surfaces the person came into contact with will be disinfected. From June 10 to June 16, the school had four listening sessions about the proposed referendum plan and single campus. A total of 46 people attended. Concerns included the status of the elementary schools if they are vacated, whether parking will be sufficient, and Highway 14 entrance/exit safety. Middle School/High School fees will be capped at $140, excluding band fees, going forward.
