Sauk Prairie Middle School needs asbestos removal for HVAC upgrade

The Sauk Prairie School Board met on January 27. Middle school construction was discussed as asbestos was found while working on the air conditioning upgrade. The removal will take up an extensive amount of funding. The additional funding to finish the air conditioning project is coming from an early closing of a tax increment finance district. Superintendent Wright discussed referendum campaign practices provided by Quarles & Brady. He touched on the appropriate spending of district funds. The district is prohibited from using district funds for promotional materials but, they may use district funds for informational materials.  Many members of the board attended a State Education Convention the week of January 20. The convention was recapped at the January 27 meeting. The members who attended highlighted the breakout sessions they attended and the keynote speaker.
