Reedsburg has closed out the regular season at the high school level in girls basketball and it was a rough way to bring down the curtain for the regular slate.

The gymnasts from River Valley High School had one final tune-up prior to WIAA Tournament competition last week at the end of season Southwest Wisconsin Conference Meet in Dodgeville.
Ithaca/Weston ends the conference season with a bang in girls hoops action last week, winning the conference finale at Ithaca High School, 47-38, over Seneca, avenging a 6-point loss earlier this month against the Royals. I/W battled their way to an 18-17 halftime lead and were able to pull away a bit down the stretch to win by 9.
River Valley welcomed in a strong non-conference opponent, Mineral Point, in boys basketball action last Tuesday night. Valley owned a halftime lead, but the visitors rallied to win, 54-45, with River Valley falling to 10-10 overall for the season.
River Valley is taking some momentum into the upcoming WIAA Tournament season in girls hoops action, entering this final week of regular season play at 14-8 for the season.
Rarely do high school basketball teams play each other in two straight games but it happened this past week as Ithaca/Weston faced Kickapoo twice in three days in girls basketball action in the Ridge and Valley Conference.

Those involved with Ithaca/Weston wrestling knew the competition was going to be tough and each victory was going to be tough at Saturday’s WIAA D-3 Sectional at Brookwood High School. I/W did earn some wins along the way but for the first time in several years, the program will not be represented at the WIAA State Individual Tournament.
