Remains of Reedsburg woman identified in Chippewa County

Authorities have identified the remains of a body discovered in Chippewa County last October.
They were determined to be those of Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez, 25, of Reedsburg, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office. The department was notified after the analysis was completed by the University of North Texas.
According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Rodriguez was a Peruvian national working in the Wisconsin Dells area. She was reported missing to the Reedsburg Police Department in July 2020. On Oct. 14, 2020, human remains were discovered in a suitcase in the town of Wheaton in Chippewa County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there is a person of interest in the case, and the Sheriff and Reedsburg Police Department are collaborating on the investigation. Further details will be released at a later date.
Chippewa County is located in northwestern Wisconsin. The Sheriff’s Office is based out of Chippewa Falls.
