La Valle man injured in motorcycle crash

A La Valle man suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash that occurred just after 7 p.m. Aug. 1.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the 53-year-old man and his cycle were found on Highway 33-58 in the village of La Valle. Numerous reports indicated he was unconscious and the bike was on fire.

Law enforcement, emergency medical services and fire personnel responded to the scene.

An initial investigation and eyewitness accounts indicate the 2021 Can Am Ryker three-wheel motorcycle was northbound on Highway 33-58 and attempted to pass a vehicle that was traveling in the same direction. The bike left the roadway and entered the west ditch, where it collided with a guardrail. The rider was thrown from the bike, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office. He was not wearing a helmet, and his name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The incident remains under investigation.
