Master Gardeners celebrate Volunteer Week
The Wisconsin Master Gardener program will acknowledge volunteers April 5 through 9.
Master Gardener volunteers are a vital part of the local program, which is run through the University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension Sauk County. Local people work on such projects as the Metcalf Prairie restoration, the Terrific Tomato Tasting, Reedsburg Public Library gardens and the Seed Savers program. Volunteer members also answer questions, beautify community spaces, conduct workshops, grow and donate food to pantries and educate the public on growing topics.
April 7 is Thank a Master Gardener Volunteer Day. The Extension encourages the public to express its appreciation by make a phone call or writing a note to volunteers on this date.
