La Valle woman wins state clothing contest

A young La Valle woman took home the Junior honor in this year’s Wisconsin Make it with Wool Contest.
Elizabeth Colwell received a $100 cash award and will compete at the national level.
Participants must have made their submitted garments out of at least 60 percent wool or a blend of wool fabrics, wool yarn or specialty fibers, such as mohair or alpaca.
Judging was done by a panel that watched videos of each contestant modeling their outfits. They also reviewed photos and assessed the construction of each clothing item.
The senior winner was Holly Schwartz of Watertown.
