Pets of the Week: Milo and Waffles
The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its featured pets, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.
Milo is a 2-year-old rat terrier with a whole lot of personality packed into his 18-pound frame. He came to the shelter after his owner could no longer care for him due to health issues, and now he's ready for a fresh start. Like many Rat Terriers, Milo is smart, eager to learn, and happiest when he's spending time with his people. He enjoys daily walks, playtime, and exploring the world around him. A fenced yard would be great, but it's not a must as long as he gets regular exercise. Milo would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with, but he'd do best in a home without cats. He can be a little shy in new situations and sometimes gets so excited that he forgets his manners, so a home with older children would be the best fit. Milo could be your loyal little sidekick, always ready for life's next adventure. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.
Waffles is a 1-year-old black and white domestic shorthair with the perfect balance of playful and affectionate. This sweet, gentle boy is easy to pick up and comfortable being carried, and he’s quick to let you know he’s enjoying the attention by purring and leaning into your hand for more pets. Waffles loves curling up in a lap just as much as he enjoys exploring his surroundings. When he's feeling playful, you'll often find him chasing toy mice and batting around balls before checking back in for a little cuddle time. His quiet, easygoing personality makes him a wonderful companion, and he has a way of making everyone around him smile. If you're looking for a young cat who enjoys both playtime and quality time with his people, Waffles is ready to fill your home with love and plenty of purrs.
