STORYTIME BREAK
May 11 - May 25
Storytime will be taking a break from Monday, May 11 through Monday, May 25. Ms. Tori is taking a storytime break to get ready for the summer! Storytime will return on Wednesday, May 27. 
 
BOOKS & BEYOND: TODDLER STORYTIME
Mondays at 10:00 a.m.
Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to join storytime for stories, songs, and activities. No registration required. For Ages 1-2. 20-25 minutes.
 
BOOKS & BEYOND: PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to join storytime for stories, songs, and a craft. No registration required. For Ages 3-5. 25-30 minutes.
 
FREE SEED LIBRARY
April-August
Small packets of flowers and vegetable seeds will be available at the library. Take only what you will grow. Our free seed library will be out every year. New offerings will be available next year. Open April - August.
 
BINGO AT THE LIBRARY
The first and third Thursday of the month at 2:00 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of community fun and a chance to win from a selection of prizes sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Small prizes for every game with a grand prize each session. All ages welcome!
 
STAFF IN-SERVICE
Friday, May 22
The library will be open on Friday, May 22 from 1:30-5:30 p.m. The library will be closed in the morning for staff training on the Summer Reading Program. During this time, the book drop in the parking lot will remain open. Regular hours will resume on Saturday, May 23.
 
COOKBOOK CLUB
Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m.
2nd Quarter Pick: The Dane County Farmers’ Market Cookbook by Terese Allen
The cookbook club is back in action! Sign up for a recipe from this quarter’s cookbook, whip it up, and join us for a potluck extravaganza! Taste different dishes from the cookbook and spill the beans on your experience. Grab your book or a copy of your chosen recipe at the library. Registration is required. Register by phone or at the library.

This show will even make your hair stand up! Experience items disappearing in clear liquids with our refraction oil and see the power of a Van De Graaff generator. LOTS of foam with fantastic foam experiments! Geared for all ages! No registration required.
 
TEEN COOKIE PAINTING
Thursday, June 18 at 4:00 p.m.
Create edible art with frosting and sugar cookies! Try out different painting techniques to frost your canvas. The best part is you can eat your creation! Registration is required. Call, visit the library or register online.
 
1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
Can you read 1,000 books with your child before they start kindergarten? Children and parents can earn incentives and small prizes along the way. The real reward: kids who are excited and ready to learn. Parents whose children who have not yet started 5K can sign up by visiting the library.
 
BOOK SALE
The library book sale is open during regular library hours. Browse used books and movies for all ages at reasonable prices in the library’s reading area. New items are added weekly. All proceeds benefit the library via the Friends of the George Culver Community Library.

Hitch Bike Rack
Do you want to take your bike on a trip, but don’t own a bike rack? If you have a hitch, consider checking out our hitch bike rack. Our hitch bike rack is an Allen Sports Model 522RD and holds 2 bikes. It attaches to 2’’ receiver hitches or Class II 1 ¼’’ hitches. Check out is two weeks. Patrons must be 18 or older to check out this thing.
 
PUZZLE SWAP
Exchange your gently-used puzzles (in good condition, with all the pieces) for new ones. No puzzles to share? No worries - donations are not required! Feel free to keep puzzles or return them when you are done.

Have a librarian pick out books and movies selected specifically for you! Fill out the form on our website, saukcitylibrary.org, to let us know what you’re interested in. A librarian will select movies or books for you and call to arrange pick-up.
