Quick reminder: From March 13 to April 24, the Spring Green Community Library will have shortened hours on Friday. We will be open from 10-2. We will also be closed on Tuesday, April 14th for staff training.
The Spring Green Letter Writing Society is thrilled to invite the community to a special gathering on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to noon at the Spring Green Community Library.
In an era where technology reigns supreme, a “rebirth” of letter writing is taking hold at the Library. This event offers a much-needed “digital detox,” allowing participants to step away from screens and engage in a more meditative, reflective process. Whether you are a seasoned scribe or haven’t picked up a pen in years, this gathering is the perfect opportunity to experience the unique charm of letter writing.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite stationery or use the materials provided to write a thank-you note, a “thinking of you” card, or even a letter to a stranger. The society will also provide a selection of high-quality stationery and pens that feel comfortable in your hand, helping to make the writing experience as enjoyable as possible. Whether you are looking to create a simple note or want to experiment with “mail art,” we will have the tools ready to help you connect to your friends and family.

The library is open Monday through Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Library Events
-Friends of the Library craft series April 11 at 1-3pm
-The next Mid-Morning Matinee is on April 16 at 11:30 am
-Storytime will be Tuesday, April 14 at 4:30 pm and run through May 12.
-The library will be closed April 3 and April 4 and reopen our regular hours Monday, April 6.
-Library will be closed Monday, April 13- April 15 for staff training and switching to a new library software package and reopen on Thursday, April 16. The meeting rooms will still be available.

A New Version of LINKcat Will Go Live on April 17
A new version of LINKcat will become available for South Central Library System users on Friday, April 17.
The transition to the new software will begin at 5pm on Sunday, April 12 and continue through Thursday, April 16. LINKcat and the LINKcat mobile app will be unavailable during that time. Library locations will still be able to offer limited services to users–check with your local library for specific details about hours and services available during the transition. During this offline period, due dates on library items will be extended to ensure minimal impact for users. Additionally, overdue fines will not be incurred during this period.
New features in LINKcat include the ability to manage Overdrive/Libby checkouts and holds from within LINKcat. There will be several changes to the search feature in LINKcat, including the ability to browse authors and subjects. Other changes continue to empower users with increased control over their LINKcat accounts, adding the ability to reset a password via email, as well as updating specific contact information like email address and phone number.
Some things will change when the system becomes available. LINKcat PINs/Passwords were unable to be migrated to the new software system. All patrons will need to login online using their birthday (MMDD) and can then reset their password in their LINKcat account. Detailed instructions will be shared at help.linkcat.info.
LINKcat checkout history will not immediately show up in LINKcat, but will come online at a later date for those patrons who have opted to save their checkout history in LINKcat.
Don’t Miss Lists will continue to be available in the updated LINKcat after April 17. At this time the exact start date for the Don’t Miss Lists has not been determined. Once live, the current month’s list will be available each month. Other lists will take more time to be added into LINKcat. More updates on the status of Don’t Miss Lists will become available post go-live (April 17) at help.linkcat.info.
The “New This Week” list will not be available after the April 17 change. A replacement option may be added at a later date, but a timeline has not been established at this time.

Storytimes are normally held at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, before regular library hours.
The library is open Tuesdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Friday 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursdays from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
The library begins new hours on January 1st, 2026. It will be open Tuesdays, 11 to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday storytime 11:30 am., open 12 to 5 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
