Spring Green, Plain, and Lone Rock Library Notes

Spring Green
By Emily Whitmore, Library Director

I can’t believe that 2025 is behind us! I am a fan of fresh starts though, and there is something about a new year that always strikes me as an opportunity to try something new. I routinely create way too many resolutions, but just love the feeling of turning the page on the old year, and welcoming in the new year with big ideas and goals. I will say that my mind is always bigger than the hours in a day, but I like to dream.
I so enjoyed the conversations that I got to have with people in 2025 about the books that I had read. This was mostly due to my posting them on my office window. So, for 2026, I plan to continue this with the slight change of just putting books in that I gave 5 stars or would absolutely recommend to readers. Hopefully, this continues the conversations!
Librarianship is about a lot of stuff beyond the books, but we are, at our core, about books, so it is always nice when I get to chat to anyone about books. And I love a recommendation as much as the next person.
Can’t wait to chat books with you all in the New Year!
The library is open Monday through Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
