District Administrator's Corner
by Loren Glasbrenner
River Valley School District Administrator
‘Twas the night before recess, when all through the schools
There was a silence of emptiness, no worry of rules.
The lockers were shut, the long hallways were bare
Time was at a standstill, with nary a care.
The students were home, all finished with classes
While parents watched clocks, so slowly time passes.
But what could happen next, will solutions be sound?
So that all schools can progress, all vaccines safely found.
When out in the valleys there rose such a noise
A sound of great racket from all girls and boys.
It was bright, it was loud, it better than toys
It was the sound of our youth; it was the sound of great joy.
How can we define such a sound of great worth?
How can we interpret this sound here on earth?
We have started to question, we have started to pause
We have started to evaluate the need and the cause.
Headlines and bylines and reports and news feed
Have inundated each one of us, we have forgotten the need.
But, out in the valleys in our homes we can see
The students need each one of us, that is our plea.
Seek out the purpose of the time away from school
Seek out the joy and the hope, this is our rule.
Joy is there on the face - no matter the size
Joy is the learning for the meek and the wise.
We wish you all joy as you find greater good
May you all be at peace, as we all truly should.
We thank one and all for the support and the cheer
We promise to continue our work in the new year.
With great purpose we will, in all types of weather
We will educate our future, we will get through this together.
Happy Holidays to you all from the River Valley School District!
