Library Celebrates National Friends of Libraries Week It often takes the effort and dedication of many volunteers to make community organizations vibrant, successful entities and it is with great pleasure that I recognize the Friends of the Ruth Culver Community Library during National Friends of Libraries Week, which is October 20-26, 2019. Over the years, the Friends have proven to be an integral part of the library. From book sales to trivia tournaments and golf outings, the Friends are tireless in their efforts to support the Ruth Culver Community Library. They raise funds for us on an annual basis that allow us to enhance new and existing services and furnishings and simply put, we would not be able to accomplish all that we do without the help of the Friends. They have been instrumental during multiple library building projects and maintain our beautiful gardens in the back of our building. This core group of dedicated volunteers is irreplaceable and I’m so thankful that we have the Friends we do. On behalf of the library staff, I extend my deepest gratitude to each of our members and celebrate their hard work. In Solidarity, Lauren White, Library Director Prairie du Sac, WI A very grateful and GRAND “thank you” goes out to all of those helpful community members who made our recent Sauk Prairie Pioneer Day trip a great experience for our fourth grade students and families. The day was filled with a lot of wonderful experiences to help our kids and families learn about the history of our great community. There were many great sites to see, hands-on learning experiences, guides, and presentations. Some of the sites and lessons were the Tripp Museum, the magic lantern show, the Hahn House, the old firehouse, a fur trader, Indian mounds expert and the Prairie House. The children riding on the bus concluded the day with a custard treat from Sauk Prairie’s very own Culver’s Restaurant. A special “thank you” goes out to Donna Stehling, Connie Konkle, and the Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society for doing a lot of work to plan and prepare for the day. A great community is made up of great people doing great things. This, truly, was a great day in Sauk Prairie! Thank you again, The Fourth Grade Teachers at Grand Avenue Elementary School
