Sauk Prairie Healthcare would like to thank all our dedicated Mobile Meal Volunteers!  Each time you deliver meals, you make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Thank you to our many volunteers who helped in 2019 including Bank of Prairie du Sac, Concordia United Methodist Church, Council of Catholic Women St. Norbert’s Church, First United Church of Christ, Friends of Sauk Prairie Healthcare, Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, Nth Degree, Riverway Business Connections, Sauk Prairie Community Club, Sauk Prairie High School FFA and Alumni, Sauk Prairie High School National Honor Society, Sauk Prairie Kiwanis, Sauk Prairie Optimists Club, Schwarz Insurance, St. Aloysius Church, St. James Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church and Quartz Health Solutions. A big thanks to the following:  Consumers Coop for the use of their facility on Phillips Boulevard in Sauk City for the preparation of the family boxes; to Universal Die & Stampings for donating the large boxes that were used to pack gifts; to Culver’s Franchising for the Value Basket and Kid’s Meal gift certificates; to Sauk Prairie Eagle Inn for donating half of the gift cards, Wyttenbach Meats for discounted gift cards McDonald’s for discounted Happy Meals, John Joseph Coffee for donating delicious coffee for our morning crew. Thank you to our local businesses who made monetary donations to the Caring Tree. A special thank you to St. Vincent de Paul for organizing the printing of gift tags, labels, applications, and schedules, for donating all the trees and signs that were in various businesses, and for donating the grocery store certificates.  Thanks to our volunteers who donate their own time during this already busy Holiday Season.  Most of all we would like to thank the public for choosing names off the trees and making Christmas beautiful for over 719 individuals who were on the receiving end!   Sauk Prairie Area Caring Tree   Letter to the Editor: The Sauk Prairie Caring Tree Committee would like to thank all of the wonderful people in our community for their generous donations.  By your kindness we were able to give 99 families and many seniors a brighter Christmas.  We were overwhelmed by your generous support. Thank you as well to all those that bid on these wonderful items. All proceeds go to assist the library. We were fortunate to raise almost $1700 from this event. Thank you again on behalf of all the Friends of the Black Earth Library!!   Patrick Mommaerts President Friends of the Black Earth Library   Wisconsin Heights Alumni Association, Inc, Co-Chair Dennis J Wood wants to send out a big thank you to the classes having donated money for scholarships for Wisconsin Heights Seniors. Members of classes holding their reunions this year along with other private donations totaled just over $4,000.  The Class of 1969 contributed the largest gift thus far this year.   A scholarship for $1,000 will be awarded to a graduate of Wisconsin Heights in May of 2020 along with a $500 scholarship to attend MATC. The challenge by Wood goes out to the classes of 2015, and each class beyond to 1965, celebrating their 5 year increment gatherings. Donations received in December, 2019: $500 scholarship for a 2020 attending MATC donated (yearly) by Carol and David Kalscheur, along with Ron Johnson’s annual donation $366 for 2020 due to the leap year. Ron donates a dollar a day to recognize a teacher he had in school.  This year Ron recognizes his teacher from 2nd Grade at Black Earth grade school, Mrs. Bergum.
