Eagles will have winter sports

Play ball. That was the message from Sauk Prairie athletic director Josh Boyer last Friday when it came to winter sports. Earlier in the day, the Badger Conference — which Sauk Prairie is a part of — announced it would not have an official conference winter sports season.

Eagles fall to Portage

Clay Iverson knows there won’t be as many wins this season. Sauk Prairie’s football coach understands his team won’t match the six victories the 2019 team produced and won’t head to the playoffs like last year’s team did. But Iverson continues to see improvement. And for now, he’ll take it.

Sauk Prairie swimmers go unbeaten in duals

It’s been a wild, wacky year when it comes to high school sports. But it’s also turning out to be a remarkably satisfying one for Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming and diving team. The Eagles rolled past Portage, 134-29, last Tuesday and finished their dual meet season undefeated.

Weston volleyball plays well but loses at Hillsboro

A five-match win streak came to a close last Thursday in Hillsboro for the Weston Silver Eagle volleyball team but that didn’t mean Weston had an off night.

Weston took set one before Hillsboro rallied to win the next three sets in a close match.

There is no official conference season this fall in Badger North cross country due to COVID-19 but five conference schools competed in what was called the Badger North Culmination Meet to close out the regular season last Thursday on Reedsburg’s home course at the Hartje Center.

Beavers rout Portage, will host Tomah Thursday in WIAA Regional volleyball

Reedsburg closes the regular season in high school volleyball in fine style with a 3-0 sweep of the Portage Warriors last Thursday, entering WIAA Tournament play with some momentum coming into this week. The Beavers built a big early lead in each of the first two sets and went on to win 25-11 in each set.

Beaver soccer prepares for post-season after 2-1 loss to Baraboo

It’s been a familiar tale of late. The Beaver boys soccer squad plays well but loses a close decision on the scoreboard in the end and that was the scenario last week as Baraboo came to RAHS for Reedsburg’s regular season finale.
