Cardinal Glass waste collection event in Spring Green Oct. 2nd

For the past 15 years, Cardinal Insulating Glass in Spring Green has provided residents with an affordable and environmentally responsible way to dispose of electronic waste. During that time, nearly 240 tons of electronic waste have been collected, keeping unwanted electronics out of landfills while supporting area food pantries.

Bars and Breweries presentation at Kraemer Library Sept. 19th


Author Jim Draeger will deliver a presentation on his book “Wisconsin’s Historic Bars and Breweries” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Kraemer Library, 910 Main St., in Plain. Draeger, along with co-author Mark Speltz, has written two award-winning books detailing state history: “Fill ’er Up: The Glory Days of Wisconsin Gas Stations” (2008) and “Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin’s Historic Bars & Breweries” (2012). The event is co-sponsored by the Old Franklin Township Historical Society and Kraemer Library. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

Stabbing at Lone Rock Shell

A 35-year-old Lone Rock man faces an attempted homicide charge after a stabbing Sunday afternoon, August 30th, at the local Shell station on U.S. Highway 14, according to a press release by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce hires new Executive Director

The Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors is pleased to announce that following a national search, Storm Linjer has been selected as the chamber’s next executive director. Linjer will succeed Tywana German, who retired in June after 16 years of dedicated leadership.
