On the Same Page: Dino Dimensions, Cookbook Club and more next week at RPL
Two more weeks remain in the Library’s Unearth a Story programming lineup, and there are three weeks left in our summer reading challenges. Next week, take advantage of some final programs for the summer, and earn additional reading tickets for this summer’s grand prize drawings. August reading logs and bingo cards are now available.
On Monday, Aug. 3, Reedsburg Public Library is hosting the Dino Dimensions program at City Park at 6 p.m., weather permitting. Dinosaur Dimensions is a Pop Up show presented by Strutz Entertainment, featuring animatronic dinosaurs in an educational program. The show features audience participation and amazing dinosaur facts along with four dinosaurs, including a baby triceratops and an adolescent raptor. No registration is required.
Time Travelers (Grades K-2) will delve into the history of American Music at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. A slide show will provide an overview of different stages of American Music, including Native American music, jazz, rock n’ roll, and music of today. The session’s finale is a giant dance party as participants try out the different eras’ dances.
Loganville Little Library is a storytime all about dinosaurs on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Loganville Village Hall. At the Library at 2 p.m. that afternoon, Discovery Days (Grades 3-5) will experiment at various art stations, including collage, painting, and marble painting. Registration for this program is required at least 24 hours in advance.
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., teens and adults are invited to the Mingle and Muse seashell picture frame session. All materials are provided for making a themed photo frame. Choose your own shells, adhesive method and frame to create your own unique beach decor.
Reedsburg Public Library’s Cookbook Club for adults will meet the evening of Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. August’s topic is Chef’s Memoirs. Several memoirs by famous chefs are available to check out from the RPL cookbook club display. According to Club Facilitator Heidi Feller, “These books aren’t just recipe books; they are stories about the passion required to thrive in the culinary world.” Participants are asked to bring a prepared dish inspired by their selected memoir to share at the session.
Teens (Grades 6-12) are reminded that the end of Summer Library Lock-In is coming up on Friday, Aug. 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Lock-In features a movie, pizza, and other fun activities.
