Traffic stop results in 5th OWI charge

Police reported that a Reedsburg man was arrested Jan. 14 after his vehicle nearly caused an accident at East Main and Myrtle streets.
At 6:15 p.m., police stopped Peter J. Raupp, 39, who had two passengers under the age of 16 in the vehicle. According to the Reedsburg Police Department, Raupp was ultimately arrested for operating while intoxicated-fifth offense, with passengers under 16. He was also cited for failure to yield when making a left turn and having an unregistered vehicle. He was taken to the Sauk County Jail and the children were released to a responsible adult.
