Hydrant flushing, water main maintenance begin in Reedsburg

It’s waterworks time for the city of Reedsburg.
Reedsburg Utility Commission announced it will be doing hydrant flushing and water main maintenance this month. Residents can expect to see workers around the city from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Hydrant flushing and main maintenance are important to ensuring public safety. Flushing assures that there’s adequate water flow and pressure in case of use during a fire. It also removes sediment from pipes to improve water clarity and quality.
Occasionally when hydrants are flushed, residents may notice discoloration in their tap water. If this happens, run the faucet until the water is clear. If the water doesn’t clear the first time, wait a few minutes and try again. Don’t worry; the water is safe to drink.
