Reedsburg goes Reedikulus for Sidewalk Sales, children’s ball drop

The Annual Reedikulus Day Sidewalk Sales are back.

They will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 30, in downtown Reedsburg, rain or shine.

Sidewalk sales have been happening for years in Reedsburg, but they were sidelined by COVID-19 in 2020.

This year, more than 30 vendors have signed up to sell crafts and handmade goods such as jewelry, woodworking, lawn games, wreaths, decorative plants, baby items, kitchen crafts and much more. Others will be selling Tupperware, CBD products, Scentsy candles and other goods.

Author Jeff Nania will be on site to sell and sign copies of his books.

There will be no food vendors, though some may offer baked goods. Organizers instead encourage shoppers to check out the downtown restaurants for lunch or dinner.

Certain vendors will be selling items to raise money for veterans.

Over the years, the sidewalk sales have been designated for the last Friday of July. Sometimes they coincide with special events, such as the Lenny Alexander tournament. Otherwise, organizers have decided to keep it consistent by holding them on the last Friday of July.

Other businesses will get in on the action too. As usual, Viking Village Foods will celebrate Reedikulus Day by holding a cookout and ball drop. During the drop, children 11 and younger can grab a ball to receive a prize. A plane will drop small rubber balls at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 30 and 10:30 a.m. July 31 in the store parking lot.

There will also be a cookout stand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, where customers can purchase an assortment of grilled food. In addition, the outdoor produce tent will be set up from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
