Reedsburg Public Library’s final week of summer programming features fun for all. Highlights of the coming week include Family Fun Night Worm Races, preschool storytimes, Loganville Little Library Day with Worm Races, Babygarten Lapsit and a Teen Time Lock In.

On Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m., Family Fun Night Worm Races will be held on the library’s south lawn with worms provided for all participants. Cheer on the worm you choose as the race begins at the center of the circle and the worms race to reach the outer ring. Prizes will be awarded to the trainers of the fastest worms. This program has been a library favorite for over 20 years!

The last preschool storytimes of the summer session will be held in the library’s Community Room on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m., and repeated at noon for Lunch Bunch, where participants may bring their sack lunches. The theme of the Aug. 4 session is Fantastical Animals.

Loganville Little Library Day is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Loganville Village Hall parking lot. On this final Little Library Day, the iconic worm races will be brought to Loganville, again with worms and race courses provided! Area residents may also schedule their holds pick-up at this time by going to the Library’s homepage (www.reedsburglibrary.org) and clicking on the “Holds Pickup” icon, and choosing Loganville as the pickup location. Alternatively, call the Library to request particular items for pickup.

The final Babygarten Lapsit for the summer, also featuring Fantastical Animals will be held on Friday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.

A Library Lock In will be the final summer teen event on Friday, Aug. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. for students entering sixth through twelfth grades. Activities for the evening include crafts, games, pizza, popcorn and a movie. The fun begins when the doors are locked. Registration is required for this event, so be sure to register on our website or stop in or call to register in advance.

The Beanstack Summer Online Reading Challenge runs through Aug. 14. Remember to log your reading and activities. Prizes can be picked up at the library through Aug. 31. The grand prize drawing for Little Farm Hands, Safari Explorers and Deep Sea Divers will occur the week of Aug. 16, as well as the drawing for the Adult Reading Program prize baskets.

Fall youth programs will begin again in mid-September. Be sure to check the library’s homepage at www.reedsburglibrary.org for additional information, or call the library at 768-READ (7323).
