River Valley School District Administrator
Tenacious - the graduating seniors at River Valley High School have become tenacious. They entered their high school experience never expecting the last two years to become a scene from what would have once been considered science fiction. But, they have made it! They have adapted; they have learned how to social distance, mask, quarantine, sanitize, and make the best of a “less than fun” situation. They have gone to classes, played sporting events, held concerts, managed debates, and found the ways to succeed even during challenging events. This ability to maintain a focus, retain their school pride and get the job done will serve them well as they venture to the next steps after high school. A national pandemic cannot stand in the way of a Blackhawk!
The River Valley School District is proud of all of their next steps. We have students entering the job force, the military, apprenticeships, two-year institutions, and four-year institutions throughout the Midwest. We will have graduates moving to the following cities (to name a few) as they gain more experience:

• Platteville, Wisconsin
• Richland Center, Wisconsin
• Fennimore, Wisconsin
• Decorah, Iowa
• Minneapolis, Minnesota
• St. Paul, Minnesota
For many of the graduates, this will be the biggest step. They will be leaving the familiarity of their hometown and getting to know a new city. They will be making new connections, meeting new friends and colleagues, studying in new settings, and learning new concepts beyond the walls of good old RVHS. They will be paying bills, doing laundry, setting their own alarm, making meals… and calling home for help.
They have learned that when barriers are introduced, tenacity helps to overcome them. The Class of 2021 has learned that we should be stubborn in our goals, but flexible in the way we get to the result. The years at River Valley High School have prepared them for what comes next. As the school song of River Valley High School claims, “Proud we stand in our loyalty - Brave and strong through battles are we!” The Class of 2021 is strong, resourceful, and ready for what comes next. They have stood strong through many battles. Good luck to each and every one of our graduates! The future holds many opportunities…and you are ready to go!
