Butterfest returns to original dates

Reedsburg’s largest festival will take place as planned after all this year.

The Butterfest committee announced the event had been moved back to its original dates of June 16-20. Previously, the group said it needed to push the festival back due to the pandemic. New dates, at that time, had not been announced.

The committee said it had an approved safety plan, which will cover vendors, the carnival and grandstand features.

Reedsburg Young Professionals is still organizing the parade.

Butterfest was not held last year due to COVID-19.

It’s traditionally been Reedsburg’s biggest celebration, attracting locals and guests for such events as truck and tractor pulls, a parade, children’s activities, a midway, contests and the run/walk, to name a few. It is mostly free, but select events do charge admission.

Organizers say they’ll release more details as they are finalized.
