Golfers begin new season with two invites

The River Valley High School golf team returned to competition over the weekend after not having season in 2020. This year the roster includes 23 boys and one girl. The season opened with the Reedsburg Invitational on Friday with River Valley finishing seventh of 11 teams. Saturday the team traveled to the Dodge-Point Invitational to take fifth place.  “The 2021 season looks to be a great year to rebuild and grow with a great group of students,” said River Valley co-head coach Matt Snow. “One area that we are excited about is the growth in numbers of the golf program.  Some of our goals for the season include competing for the conference championship as well as qualifying for sectionals as a team.  In addition, we look forward to the continued growth of our younger players.” Individual results for the Reedsburg Invitational are: Eli Johnson 86, Ashton Price 99, Jackson Their 106, Connor Fields 101, and Luke Snow 111. Individual results for the Dodge-Point Invitational are: Eli Johnson 83, Ashton Price 95, Luke Snow 97 (second place medalist in flight), Jackson Their 98, and Connor Fields 103.  This week the boys had a match at Prairie du Chien on Tuesday.
