Taylor Briehl featured by UW

Taylor Briehl (Spring Green/a 2017 River Valley High School graduate) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team has been featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union. Taylor Briehl and the Warhawks have won seven straight games entering the week and are 10-4 to start the 2021 season. She has three hits and owns an on-base percentage of .375 in nine games this season, including four starts. Briehl registered two hits, including a two-run home run, and finished with two runs scored and three runs batted in during UW-Whitewater’s 17-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. In 2019, Briehl appeared in 19 games, totaling six hits with one double, two runs scored and one RBI. Her performance helped the Warhawks win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season championship and reach the NCAA Tournament. As a freshman in 2018, Briehl appeared in nine games, including one as a starter, and posted three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. UW-Whitewater swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reached the NCAA Super Regional, finishing one game shy of a Division III World Series berth. Briehl is a two-year Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete and a three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. She is majoring in biology with emphasis in pre-biomedical professions and previously served as a volunteer for UW-W’s nursing home visitation program for two semesters.
