Heights boys win a pair

Amazingly, the boys basketball postseason is almost here. And Wisconsin Heights has picked the perfect time to heat up. The Vanguards notched a pair of wins last week, and in the process, snapped a four-game losing streak. Heights rolled past Belleville, 76-70, on Jan. 28, then edged Pardeeville, 79-70, on Jan. 30. The Vanguards are now 4-5 on the year. In Heights’ win over Belleville, De’Shawn Barsness led the way with 21 points and Jacob Brabender added 15. Both Devin Brabender and Everett Buol added eight points and Carson Hosking had seven. Belleville led, 28-25, at halftime. But Heights rallied back thanks to a season-high 51 points in the second half. In the Vanguards’ win over Pardeeville, Barsness erupted for 33 points. Both Derek Adler and Devin Brabender added 15.
